# Hacked or locked out — how do I get back in?

> Step-by-step recovery for the exact app or site.

URL: https://allproblemssolved.aplusz.app/en/hacked-or-locked-account/
Language: English (en)

## The problem

Accounts hold money, identity and every other login. The recovery path exists but hides inside each platform, and the hours lost are the hours the attacker uses.

Who it hits: Anyone with an email address.

### The shapes it takes

- Email taken over
- Social accounts
- Bank or payment app
- Locked out by two-step login on a lost phone
- Password changed by someone else
- Extortion after a hack

### What this page gives you

The recovery sequence for that exact platform, in order.

## Which account, and what happened?

Account → What happened.

Nothing you choose here is sent anywhere.

## Every account, every situation

### Google — Gmail, YouTube

- Get back in: https://accounts.google.com/signin/recovery
- Hacked account: https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/6294825
- Disabled account: https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/40695
- Security check: https://myaccount.google.com/security-checkup

**I forgot my password**

1. Open Google yourself — the official app, or its address typed by hand — and choose “Forgot password”.
2. Use the email or phone number the account was opened with. The code arrives there.
3. No code? Check spam, wait five minutes, then ask once more. Asking again and again can lock it for hours.

**Someone changed my password, email or phone**

1. Go to Google's account recovery (below) and answer every question you can — on a phone or computer you've signed in with before.
2. Look for a “Security alert” email from Google at your recovery address: it has a link to secure the account.
3. Once in, Google's hacked-account guide (below) shows what the attacker may have changed.

**I lost my phone, or my login codes**

1. On the sign-in screen choose “Try another way”: a backup code, a prompt on another signed-in device, or a code to your recovery email.
2. If none works, use Google's account recovery (below) and answer every question. It can take a few days.

**My account was disabled or suspended**

1. Sign in: if Google disabled the account, you'll see “Try to restore” — follow it.
2. Or use Google's disabled-account page (below) to ask for a review.

**Someone is posting or messaging as me**

1. Warn your contacts now, on another channel: “Ignore messages from my account — it isn't me.”
2. Report the account or the fake profile to Google, with its own report button, and ask friends to report it too.
3. If it's your own account that was taken, choose “Someone changed my password, email or phone” above.

**I can still get in, but something is wrong**

1. Run Google's Security Checkup (below): it lists devices, apps and recent changes, and fixes them in place.
2. In Gmail settings, check Forwarding and Filters for rules you didn't create.

### Apple Account — iCloud, iPhone

- Get back in: https://iforgot.apple.com
- Help centre: https://support.apple.com

**I forgot my password**

1. On an iPhone or iPad you're signed in on: Settings → your name → Sign-In & Security → Change Password.
2. No such device? Go to iforgot.apple.com (below).

**Someone changed my password, email or phone**

1. Go to iforgot.apple.com (below) and reset the password with your trusted phone number.
2. If the phone number was changed too, start Account Recovery there: Apple gives you a date when you can get back in.

**I lost my phone, or my login codes**

1. Sign in on another Apple device you own to get a code — or use your recovery key, if you set one.
2. No trusted device or number: start Account Recovery at iforgot.apple.com (below). The wait can be days, and it protects you.
3. Lost the iPhone itself? Mark it as lost at icloud.com/find, from another device.

**My account was disabled or suspended**

1. If your Apple Account is locked “for security reasons”, unlock it at iforgot.apple.com (below).
2. For a disabled account, contact Apple Support from Apple's own site (below).

**Someone is posting or messaging as me**

1. Warn your contacts now, on another channel: “Ignore messages from my account — it isn't me.”
2. Report the account or the fake profile to Apple, with its own report button, and ask friends to report it too.
3. If it's your own account that was taken, choose “Someone changed my password, email or phone” above.

**I can still get in, but something is wrong**

1. Settings → your name → Sign-In & Security: check the trusted phone numbers and email.
2. Settings → your name: scroll to the list of devices and remove any you don't own.

**Someone changed my password, email or phone**

2. Give as many old passwords and recent email subjects as you remember — more answers, better chances.

1. Read Microsoft's message: it says why, and whether you can appeal.
2. Appeal only through Microsoft's own pages (below). Nobody else can restore an account, whatever they promise.
3. Appeal once, honestly, then wait. Sending many appeals usually slows it down.

**Someone is posting or messaging as me**

2. Report the account or the fake profile to Microsoft, with its own report button, and ask friends to report it too.

1. On the login screen, choose “Try another way”.
2. Use a saved recovery code, or approve the login from a device where you're still logged in.

### WhatsApp

- Contact them: https://www.whatsapp.com/contact
- Help centre: https://faq.whatsapp.com

**I forgot my password**

1. WhatsApp has no password: open it on your phone and register your number with the 6-digit code sent by text.

**Someone changed my password, email or phone**

1. Open WhatsApp on your phone and register your number again with the 6-digit code — that signs the other person out.
2. If it asks for a two-step PIN you never set, the thief set it: you may have to wait 7 days before you can register without it.
3. Never share the 6-digit code with anyone. WhatsApp never asks for it.

**I lost my phone, or my login codes**

1. Ask your mobile operator to block the SIM and give you a new one with the same number.
2. Meanwhile, ask WhatsApp to deactivate the account: contact them (below) with “Lost/Stolen: Please deactivate my account” and your number in full international format, like +63 912 345 6789.
3. Then register WhatsApp on a new phone with that number. Your chats come back if you had a backup.

**My account was disabled or suspended**

1. Open WhatsApp: if the number is banned, tap “Request a review” and wait for the answer in the app.

**Someone is posting or messaging as me**

1. Warn your contacts on another channel: “Don't send money or codes to my WhatsApp.”
2. Then register your number again — choose “Someone changed my password, email or phone” above.

**I can still get in, but something is wrong**

1. Settings → Linked devices: log out of every device you don't recognise.
2. Settings → Account → Two-step verification: turn it on, with a PIN and an email.

### Telegram

- Contact them: https://telegram.org/support
- Help centre: https://telegram.org/faq

**I forgot my password**

1. Telegram signs you in with a code, not a password. If it asks for a password, that's your two-step password: tap “Forgot password?” for a code at your recovery email.

**Someone changed my password, email or phone**

1. Log in with your number and the code. If a password you never set blocks you, the thief set it: tap “Forgot password?”.
2. No recovery email you can reach? If you're still logged in on another device, ask for a password reset there — it takes effect after 7 days.
3. Logged in nowhere and no email: the only way back is “Reset account”, which deletes your chats. Write to Telegram's support (below) before you choose it.

**I lost my phone, or my login codes**

1. Get a replacement SIM with the same number from your mobile operator, then log in on a new phone.
2. From a device that's still logged in: Settings → Devices → end the lost phone's session.

3. Keep TikTok's emails about the change — they help prove the account is yours.

**I lost my phone, or my login codes**

1. Use a backup code, if you saved them when you set up two-step login.
2. Is the account still open on another device — a laptop, a tablet? Change the two-step settings there.

### My bank or payment app

**I forgot my password**

2. Freeze or block the card in the bank's app while you wait.
3. Secure your email first, then change the bank app's password and PIN.
4. Report every payment you didn't make, in writing, and ask the bank what happens next.
5. Never read a text-message code to anyone who calls — not even “the bank”.

### Another account

**I forgot my password**

1. Open the site yourself — the official app, or its address typed by hand — and choose “Forgot password”.
2. Use the email or phone number the account was opened with. The code arrives there.
3. No code? Check spam, wait five minutes, then ask once more. Asking again and again can lock it for hours.

**Someone changed my password, email or phone**

1. Open the site's own page for getting back in. It is built for this, even if the email and phone were changed.
2. Search your email for a message from the site about the change: most include a “This wasn't me” link that undoes it.
3. Use a phone or computer you've used on the account before, on your usual Wi-Fi — recovery trusts familiar ones.
4. Have ready: an old password, the original email or phone, roughly when you opened the account, and a photo ID in case they ask.

**I lost my phone, or my login codes**

1. Use a backup code, if you saved them when you set up two-step login.
2. Is the account still open on another device — a laptop, a tablet? Change the two-step settings there.

2. Report the account or the fake profile to the site, with its own report button, and ask friends to report it too.
3. If it's your own account that was taken, choose “Someone changed my password, email or phone” above.

**I can still get in, but something is wrong**

1. Change the password now, to one you use nowhere else.
2. Sign out of every other device.
3. Check the recovery email, the phone number and any email forwarding — remove what you don't recognise.
4. Remove apps and connected accounts you didn't add.
5. Turn on two-step login with an authenticator app.

## Once you're back in

1. Change the password to one you use nowhere else.
2. Sign out of every other device.
3. Turn on two-step login — an authenticator app is safer than text messages.
4. Check the recovery email, phone number and email forwarding: attackers leave their own there.
5. Tell your contacts that recent messages from your account weren't from you.
6. Anywhere else you used the same password, change it too.

## Two things to know

- Nobody can recover an account for money — no “recovery expert”, no hacker for hire, no one in the comments. They are the second scam.
- If money was taken, call your bank now. And secure your email first: whoever has your email can reset everything else.
